Valley Brook Country Club is a Private, 27 hole golf course located in Mcmurray, Pennsylvania. Valley Brook Country Club has three 9-hole golf courses. These courses can be combined in pairs to form three different 18 hole course challenges. The nine-hole courses are The Red Course, The Gold Course, and The Blue Course.
Valley Brook Country Club opened for play in 1966. The course was designed by Ferdinand Garbin and Jim Harrison. In 1974 the Red Nine underwent a renovation with the greens being redesigned by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
The Red Course is the most demanding because of the water hazards coming into play on some holes. The Red course measures 3,321 yards and plays to a par-36.
Because it has the shortest par 4's, locals consider the Gold Course as being the easiest to score well on. The Gold Course measures 3,287 yards and plays to a par-36.
The Blue Course is the intermediate course and features a variety of hazards. The Blue Course measures 3,303 yards and plays to a par-36.
All three courses have tree-lined fairways which are predominantly narrow and greens that are medium-sized and fast. Water hazards (creeks and lakes) come into play several times, and the terrain varies between flat and rolling. The Red Course's signature hole is #2, a 157-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a long narrow green.
